Fill large saucepan with cold water and add potatoes, bay leaf and salt.
Pop the lid on and bring to the boil.
Boil covered on medium to low heat for 20 minutes.
Strain and rest potatoes for 2 minutes. Serve with butter.
TIP: Always start boiling potatoes in cold, salted water. If you add potatoes to boiling water, the outside cooks before the inside giving you unevenly cooked potatoes.
